International AIDS Conference will take place in Washington DC from July 22nd to 27th. ICAD will host a report back meeting for community to learn about the major issues and research coming out of the conference. The report back will be a day-long event and will be held in Toronto. ICAD's Annual General Meeting will be held in conjunction with this event. Further details will be circulated closer to the time but for now, don't forget to note the date in your schedule!

This year, the Global Fund is celebrating 10 years of impact in fighting the three diseases in partnership with other bilateral and multilateral organizations. In its 10 years' existence, the Global Fund has brought treatment and prevention to millions of people. The world has moved from a mood of despair in the face of unstoppable pandemics to one of genuine hope that they can actually be beaten, and by providing nearly a quarter of all international funding to fight AIDS, two thirds of the funding against malaria and more than four fifths against TB, the Global Fund has played a central role in this turnaround.
Thursday, April 5: Trade unions throughout Africa are promoting a recently issued Canadian report on AIDS as an international model for government action in the workplace.
The report, produced by the Public Health Agency of Canada, examines the Canadian compliance to International Labour Organization (ILO) Recommendation 200 adopted in 2010 by the ILO on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work.
From March through May 2012, trade union organizations throughout Africa will target Canadian Embassies in their countries to gain Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper's support at the G8 Summit May 19 - 24, 2012, in Chicago, U.S.A. to:

Press Statement by the International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW)
For immediate release: On International Women's Day, the International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW) joins other women living with HIV, AIDS advocates, activists, organizations working with women living with HIV and researchers to call on world leaders to provide resources to stop HIV infection of women. Worldwide, women constitute over half of people living with HIV/AIDS. Women represent 59% and 53% of people with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean, respectively. The Caribbean, Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia experienced increasing rates of HIV in women throughout the years, especially among women who use drugs, sex workers and youth. In 2009, AIDS was the leading cause of death for women in their reproductive years globally.
